Bedfordshire Golf Club Update - 2nd Dec 2020

Dear Member, In advance of our reopening tomorrow, and as we're now operating within Covid-19 Tier 2 (High) rules, we thought you'd find it helpful to have a list of those things you should, and should not, be doing when you're back at Stagsden. Please find more details below for each aspect of the Club's services. Hospitality Services We wish to provide Members with hospitality services in a 'Covid-19 Safe' environment, but we are now limited to the range of hospitality services we are able to provide you with inside the premises. We have therefore detailed below how our hospitality services will be provided once we reopen on Wednesday 2nd December: Outside (on and under the Clubhouse balcony)

  • Legally, you may socialise in groups of up to 6, but we would prefer you to socialise only with your current playing partners (up to 4) to ensure proper social distancing

  • The full food and drink menu will be available, but alcohol can only be ordered and served with a substantial meal

  • A menu of 'Substantial Meal' options will be presented to you at your table

  • Please do not continue to order alcohol after you have finished your meal as the staff have clear guidance on how to follow the Tier 2 Rules

Inside (Lounge & Dining Room)

  • You may enjoy hospitality services inside, but you must sit individually at tables, unless you are with members of your own household/bubble

  • Anyone abusing this rule will be asked to leave the building

  • The full food and drink menu will be available, but alcohol can only be ordered and served with a substantial meal

  • A menu of 'Substantial Meal' options will be presented to you at your table

  • Please do not continue to order alcohol after you have finished your meal as the staff have clear guidance on how to follow the Tier 2 Rules

Staff will ensure that social distancing rules are strictly adhered to. Hospitality Services will be available daily in the lounge from 8.00am to 4.00pm. No orders for food or drink will be served after this time. The Clubhouse will be closed at 5.00pm. A Take-away Service will be available to anyone who prefers this. Half Way Hut The half way hut will be open daily from 9.30am to 3.00pm with an enhanced food and drink menu. This will run for a trial period of 2 weeks to assess demand and if it proves popular we would look to continue that service. Socialise Safe - Stay Safe Lockers, Toilets & Hand Basins

  • Lockers rooms will be open for storage of golfing equipment

  • Showers remain closed and are not to be used.

  • Toilets and wash-hand basins are available for use as normal

On the Courses As we have said, we will be operating to Tier 2 (High) Covid 19 rules from December 2nd. For golf, this is a return to the 'Safe Golf' format that you all got used to before the latest lockdown. The on-course guidance remains as follows:

  • Physical distancing to be observed at all times

  • Ball washers and drinking fountains have been covered to prevent infection

  • A few rubbish bins are available on the course, but please take any rubbish home

  • Bunker rakes have been removed to prevent infection.

  • Please smooth sand with your feet or club after your shot.

  • Do not touch or remove the flagsticks. Foam inserts will prevent your ball from dropping too far into the hole and it will be easily retrievable

  • Do not use any equipment to remove your ball from the hole

  • Once a hole is completed, the player(s) in front must have exited the tee box before you and your playing partners can proceed to the tee

  • Avoid slow play and keep up with the player(s) in front

  • Do not pick up another player’s equipment or golf ball

  • You must refrain from handshakes

Play Safe - Stay safe In the Shop:

  • Please respect & follow instructions

  • Please use the hand-sanitiser provided on entry to the Shop

  • A one-way circulation remains in operation

  • Remember that the Shop will also have visitors arriving for the Academy Course and customers for the Driving Range - please observe 2 meter queue etiquette/distancing

  • Card payment only, no cash

On the Driving range:

  • Driving Range use is by multi-use digi-card only

  • Passage from Shop to range is one-way - leave at either end of the range

  • A hand-sanitiser is positioned near the ball dispenser

Strictly, one person per bay, no sharing of clubs Practice Safe - Stay Safe We look forward to seeing you all from tomorrow morning The BGC Communications Team
